Tuna Fish… Luna Tuna… Toons of Glory… Glorious fish… My lovely sweet girl. She really is the odd one out and quite quite bonkers!! She is a character all on her own… and those eyebrows!

I bought her as she was too lovely to leave when we went to view our first outside litter by Bilbao. And she was tiny, now she is a big girl (rather too big!) and a big personality. But she hated showing. So we didn’t show her past puppy classes, although she did go out more than once as a puppy and do quite well. For ’the heck of it’ in Spring this year (2025) I entered her at the Wire Haired Championship show… and not only did she prove to LOVE EVERY MINUTE she only went and bagged a 2nd place in a big class and qualified for Crufts 2026!!!

Tuna has had 2 litters of puppies for me. The first by Cadbury, Sunsong Whisper a Promise. Nearly all show quality. Bramalodge Bonfire Heart by far the best bitc,. I kept back to show myself, but in the end let her go to a now good friend. Time and family health forced my hand, but she has done very well in the ring for Lisa @ Tatze and has had a litter of lovely babies for her too. Michael has also proved very worthy showing for Eliza Mason, under the guidance of Dad Tom and gaining his stud book number and many accolades in junior handling.

Tuna’s second litter by our own Kissdachs Freddy Mercury were all also lovely and the girl I kept back, Turner, qualified easily for Crufts 2024 and was a lovely puppy. But, sadly outshined at the time by her housemate Pancake, I decided to pet home her and vow to keep the best one back from the next litter, hopefully at the end of summer 2024.

Toons is really just a bonkers pet and cuddle monster. Makes a lot of chatter and hustles everyone. But she is unbelievably kind, loyal, gentle and sweet. I don’t think we will ever have another that is quite such a ‘card’ and an aristocrat in nature.

Tuna has had her heart and eyes tested and had no issues – her back screening was completed outside the required age parameters (24-48 months of age) but gave acceptable results. Her last litter from which we will aim to keep a bitch puppy will be carefully chosen for health and is planned for 2025.
