‘HELLO! And welcome to Bramalodge Dachshunds Website!

We are the very proud owners of several Wire Haired Dachshunds. Our foundation bitches were imported in 2013 and since then we have become totally captivated by these charming, intelligent, cheeky, vivacious and loving ‘little big’ dogs and would now not be without them for all the world.

We have been lucky enough to have dogs that are not only wonderful pets, and working dogs, but have also done us proud in the show ring. Winning or being placed every time out and qualifying and competing at CRUFTs! Bramalodge Betsy Button winning Bitch Puppy at Crufts 2018 and Special Beginner of the Year at DOTY 2019. Bramalodge Bravac Boris got a Reserve at CRUFTs 2018, in 2020 Bramalodge Billie Jean took 2 Yellow Cards in very strong classes and her half sister took Reserve in hers. At the start of 2021 Billie Jean did us proud again taking Puppy Group 4 at Retford Open Show, just before Lockdown.... then we will brush off the joys of 2021 and move on to 2022.

This year we have shown very little, but did make it to CRUFTS with Kissdachs Diva @ Bramalodge to get a very good second in Junior.

Our hopes for the future are to continue to keep our dogs as pets, show them successfully and to breed WHD puppies. We want to breed for ourselves to improve our lines, but also to provide loving families with well socialised, home reared, healthy and confident pets.

The selection of dogs we now own, both imported and home bred are real workers as well as having clean and strong conformation and movement. We try very hard to keep close to the Breed Standard, aiming to have dogs of good size, weight and proportions - with health, functionality, strength and capability being paramount. We are very proud of our pack. Loyal, faithful, loving. Strong, capable, driven. Confident, gentle and kind. All our dogs live in the home and are integrated into daily life.

All puppies are socialised and handled as soon as mum is ready and happy (usually day 1 with the family and week 2 for familiar visitors) and we can brag nothing but high praise for their temperaments and attitudes to life. We do not have kennels, all puppies are born and raised in the house. We keep all our puppies to 10 weeks old and they leave us fully vaccinated, wormed and heath checked, ready to get out into the world with you and start learning.

Our dogs are busy, active, fit and playful - often going out on the moors and round the woodlands, covering challenging terrain and some considerable miles without difficulty. All of them are given the opportunity to learn to track with Grampa and some have even been holidaying to Scotland to do it for real!
